Michael Johnson is the best 200/400 meter sprinter in the history of the sport of track & field. He is a 4-time Olympic Gold medalist, 9-time World Champion, and world record holder. During his 11 year career Michael established a record of 13 Olympic and World Championship medals, all of them gold. Johnson represented the United States in the Olympics on three occasions: Barcelona 1992 winning gold in the 4x400 meter relay, Atlanta 1996 winning gold at 200 meters and 400 meters, and Sydney 2000 winning gold again at 400 meters.
During his career Johnson broke world records in the 200 meters, 400 meters, and 4x400 meter relay. He became known as the "Fastest Man in the World" in 1996 when completing the historic 200/400 meter Olympic double recording the fastest time ever clocked by a human, running 23 mph en route to his 200 world record performance of 19.32 seconds. Michael added the 400 meter world record in 1999 clocking 43.18 seconds.
Following his retirement from competitive track in 2000, Johnson has achieved success as a television commentator working for BBC sports and the Olympics. Additionally, he is a regular contributor in the sports section of The Times. Johnson is also the author of Slaying the Dragon: How to Turn Your Small Steps to Great Feats, an inspirational book where he reveals his personal blueprint for achievement and explains how to turn defeats and setbacks into successes. His second book, GOLD RUSH: What Makes An Olympic Champion?, was released in 2012.
Johnson has taken the lessons he learned to be successful during his athletic career and applied those to his various business ventures, including his sports training company, the Michael Johnson Performance Center, where he works with clients ranging from the Chinese Athletic Association to some of the most successful NFL football players. Johnson's other business interests include various real estate development projects and a performance training application available for smart phones.
Johnson is a member and serves on the board of the Laureus World Sports Academy, a group of 40 legends of sport from around the world, whose Sport For Good Foundation seeks to bring about social change through the use of sport for children affected by social and political hardships, such as: disease, war, poverty and conflict.

It was a pleasure to meet Michael Johnson during his trip to Warsaw, and on behalf of everyone in the Procter & Gamble Poland/Baltics family, I would like to thank him for his visit to share his thoughts and perspectives. Everyone seems to have taken away an important personal lesson that will better enable each of us to take our performance one step higher, and to make the leap from "winners" to "champions."
