Catriona Matthew has been one of the leading golfers on the world stage for over a decade. Her outstanding amateur record laid the foundation for a successful career and she has since competed at the highest level all around the world.
Throughout her career she has had six major victories spread across the US LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour. Her biggest win came on August 2nd, 2009 at the Ricoh Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham and St Anne’s, one of the world’s four major tournaments. This win was made even more remarkable as it came just 11 weeks after Catriona gave birth to her second daughter. She is the first player from Scotland to win a women's major golf tournament.
In 2011, Catriona earned her fourth-career LPGA victory at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational. Catriona’s other career victories include: McDonald’s PGA Championship (1998), Cup Noodles Hawaiian Ladies Open (2001), Wendy’s Championship for Children (2004), Scandinavian TBC (2007), HSBC LPGA Brazil Cup (2009) and the Ricoh British Open (2009).
Catriona is no stranger to the top-10. In 2010 she recorded a season-best tie for fifth at the Sybase Match Play Championship. Her other top-10 finishes include: tie for sixth at the Kia Classic Presented by J Golf; fourth at the ShopRite LPGA Classic; tie for fourth at the Mizuno Classic; tie for fifth at the RICOH Women’s British Open; eighth at the HSBC Women’s Championships; tie for eighth at the Honda LPGA Thailand.
She has made six appearances on the European Solheim Cup Team with a 2-0-2 record. She also won the Aberdeen Ladies Scottish Open on the Ladies European Tour (LET).
