In March of 2008, John Brady was named head coach of the Arkansas State University men's basketball team. Brady coaches with heart, passion, and a knowledge of the game that makes him one of the best at in-game decisions.
After a year as a graduate assistant at Mississippi State, Brady began coaching in the high school ranks of Louisiana. In 1981 he was named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class AAA "Coach of the Year." After returning to MSU to serve eight years as an assistant under Bob Boyd and Richard Williams, Brady was named head coach at Samford University in 1992. In six years, Brady became the winningest coach in Samford history, garnering a 89–77 record.
In 1997, Brady replaced the legendary Dale Brown as head coach at Louisiana State University. In ten seasons at LSU, Brady compiled a 184–126 record, including two SEC regular season titles and four NCAA tournament appearances. He was hired by Arkansas State on March 18th, 2008, and has an overall winning record with the team.
Brady earned his BS from Belhaven College, where he played varsity basketball, and received a master's degree from Mississippi State University.
