Lindsay Davenport has come a long way since being named Tennis magazine's 1993 "Rookie of the Year". Since turning pro, she has won three Grand Slam tournaments including the 1998 U.S. Open, 1999 Wimbledon Championships and the 2000 Australian Open. Lindsay also captured an Olympic gold medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Athens, GA. On August 8, 2008, Lindsay was forced to withdraw from the singles competition at the Olympic Games in Beijing because of a lingering knee injury.
Lindsay has been ranked the world's #1 women singles player four times (1998, 2001, 2004 and 2005). She is one of only five women since 1975 to have ever held the year end #1 ranking four times. The only other players include tennis icons Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Steffi Graf and Monica Seles.
A winner both off the court and on, Lindsay is a popular spokesperson for some of world's biggest companies. She is a wonderful role model for all audiences and embodies the characteristics that with hard work and determination anything is possible.
Davenport is married to former All-American tennis player Jon Leach. They have two children and reside in Southern California.
