Patrick McEnroe, who enjoyed success playing tennis on both the collegiate and professional levels for more than 10 years, serves as a tennis analyst for ESPN. He has also called play-by-play for select events. McEnroe also contributes to CBS Television Network's U.S. Open Late Night Show and has served as United States Davis Cup captain since December 2000.
On the court, his best career performances came in doubles, including winning the French Open in 1989 with partner Jim Grabb and winning the Paris Indoor with his brother, John, in 1992. He reached a career-high ranking of #3 in doubles in April 1993. His singles career peaked in 1995 when the right-hander reached the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open and ended the year ranked #35. He continues to play a limited schedule of select events and captained the winning Davis Cup team in 2007.
McEnroe first worked for ESPN on a limited basis in 1995 and ’96 before beginning a more extensive schedule of assignments in 1997. He also has worked for CBS Sports since 1996.
McEnroe was born July 1, 1966 in Manhasset, N.Y. and attended Stanford University, leading team to NCAA titles in 1986 and 1988. He lives in New York City and Los Angeles with his wife, Melissa.
